HOW TO USE YOUR SOLAR HOME SYSTEM EFFECTIVELY

HOW TO USE YOUR SOLAR HOME SYSTEM EFFECTIVELY

Our batteries have a lifespan of about 7 years if used effectively and the panel 20 years. The number of years vary from one person to another as people tend to use and look after their batteries and panels differently. We at Zuwa Energy, would love to see our clients enjoy their products for a long time and we are therefore recommending the following DOs and DONTs to ensure that your solar home system lasts long. Here are some of the basic things you need to do:

1. You must clean your solar panels with a slightly wet cloth every two to three weeks to make sure that the panel does not accumulate dust and dirt which in turn leads to slow charging of your battery.

2. Charge your battery for at least one solar day (5 hours) and unplug it once fully charged, ready to use. It is recommended to discharge your battery to at-least 10% before recharging it. This conserves the battery to last more charge cycles.

3. Our battery is meant to power direct current (DC) appliances only. DO NOT try to plug the home system to any alternate current (AC) load or try to use the battery for any other use except for its intended use.

4. Use the home system package as it is, DO NOT try to open or switch any of the products with products that did not come with it.

CELEBRATING OUR EARLY ADOPTERS. PART TWO: MRS ALI

Zuwa Energy celebrates one of its women agents, client for over a year and definitely an early adopter today. Mrs Ali, who has had the Macheza 19 product for over a year now, did not need to be told twice about becoming Zuwa's PAYG agent. She told the Zuwa team that she would love to be part of this brand and help change people's lives and experiences just as hers did. The Zuwa Team was thrilled to have her on board! #switchtosolar #solarrevolution #solarinmalawi #zuwaenergy

CELEBRATING OUR EARLY ADOPTERS. PART ONE: MR BRINO

Now I love people who pay attention to detail and are very articulate when making decisions as much as the next guy, but isn’t it annoying when you have to keep explaining the same thing to someone and they don’t really get it or understand no matter how much descriptive you are being? This post is therefore for the early adopters, the people who are very fast and sharp in thinking that they don’t have to be told twice about anything. These are the people who know what they want, they understand and speak your language and just get you without even trying.

A word is enough for the wise they say, and Mr Bruno, from Mvera showed us in more ways than one, how he takes this notion seriously. This is a man who didn’t waste any time after hearing about Zuwa and its products. He instantly knew what he wanted and as if his unwavered interest from the get go was not enough, he decided to buy the macheza 19/ TV pack which is also the biggest home system Zuwa Energy offers!

Coupled with the fact he was the first in his village to purchase a solar light from another company a few months ago, which broke down three months later, it is amazing and overwhelming that this man made a decision to purchase a solar package again, from Zuwa Energy this time. A classic case of “go big or go home” I might add. We therefore celebrate sharp minds! #switchtosolar #solarrevolution #solarinmalawi #zuwaenergy

PROLONGING THE SHELF LIFE OF YOUR SOLAR PANELS

PROLONGING THE SHELF LIFE OF YOUR SOLAR PANELS

OUR AHA MOMENT!

Quality solar panels can have a lifespan of 15-25 years if taken good care of. From our time spent in the field and talking to our customers, we discovered that few people know how to take good care of their panels.

In fact, the common complaint was that over time it takes longer for the panel to charge up the battery. We quickly discovered that few if any of them never cleaned their panels! Over time the panels become covered with dust and dirt. This in turn reduces the intensity that the sun ray’s penetration their absorbent surface, which then increases the time the battery takes to charge up.

We are on a sensitization push here at Zuwa Energy, to bring this simple awareness to the public so they better enjoy and get the full benefits of the products they buy from us.

DID YOU KNOW?

Panels need to be cleaned every 3 months with a wet cloth to keep the surface clear. This will insure that even on an overcast day, the panel absorbs maximum solar power.
